I've been so excited to write this post for you. While I'm not the biggest fan of Winter, I love the beauty routines I've developed because of the bitter cold.
I adore long, hot baths with salts and oils that seriously hydrate my skin. I love using intense moisturizing balms, hydrating toners, and thick lip balms. I love lighting candles all day and cuddling up with tea and a face mask.
Winter beauty is a beautiful thing, and today I'm very excited to share my Winter beauty essentials with you.
P.S. If you live in a warmer climate, check out my Fall Essentials.
Ultra Hydrating Hyaluronic Serum // MyChelle
This serum contains hyaluronic acid, a scary sounding but amazing ingredient. It helps your skin hold water, leaving it soothed and hydrated. It also keeps your skin looking a bit more plump, which minimizes wrinkles! I've tried a few different serums with hyaluronic acid and this is the only one that's made a difference.
Intensive Nourish Moisture Balm // 100% Pure
I cannot survive Winter without this. The rich, nourishing oils and butters thoroughly hydrate my skin, keeping it from getting dry, red, or irritated. And of course the fresh lavender scent is the icing on the cake.
Hydration Mist // Mineral Fusion
When the temperature first started to drop I noticed my makeup was a little patchy. I tried using more face oil and cream, but it didn't seem to help. So I picked this up and the patchiness is gone. I'll use two to three sprays after applying all of my base makeup. My skin is a lot more hydrated and smooth, and my makeup isn't patchy or peeling.
Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter // Vaseline
I've tried so many lip balms but most of them just don't do the job. Since Vaseline came out with minis, I've been using them all day every day. They actually hydrate my lips without irritating them. They're also really affordable and easy to carry, so it's a win all around.
Lavender Hand Cream // Andalou Naturals
You need a proper hand cream in the cold, and this is the one for the job. With Shea, cocoa, and mango butters, it's a thoroughly hydrating cream that'll soothe your winter hands.
Fair Trade Shea Butter - Unscented // Everyday Shea
When the weather gets cold, I ditch the lotions and reach for my Shea butter. Shea butter is an all natural, intensely hydrating alternative that'll leave your skin soft and smooth. And getting an unscented one means you can mix it with essential oils to create a blend that's perfect for you.
Epsom Salts //
You can get epsom salts everywhere and I don't have a particular brand preference. Epsom salts are fantastic for using in your baths to soothe sore muscles and soften your skin.
Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub // Giovanni Cosmetics
In the Winter you'll need a proper scrub. One that's effective, but not too intense. Preferably one that's also hydrating. This one ticks all the boxes, plus it smells like a warm cup of hot chocolate. It's the perfect Winter scrub to soften your skin while making you feel cozy.
I hope these Winter beauty essentials help keep you and your skin soft and happy throughout the season. If you're looking for more ways to keep your skin looking it's best, you can check out my post on 5 tips for dealing with dry skin.
