Every time I go home to North Carolina, I hit up Whole Foods for all things beauty related. I usually stick to skin and hair products, because make up is really easy to find here in Canada.
Most of these are new to me, but some of them I've been using for a while and needed to stock up on.
Nail Strengthening Base Coat // Mineral Fusions
I've wanted a base coat for a while now, but I don't hear a lot about natural nail polishes, even among natural beauty bloggers.
After spotting Mineral Fusions in Ulta, I figured I might as well pick some up and see how they work. The brushes and formula remind me of O.P.I's, my usual go to nail polish brand. The formula isn't too watery or thick and after four days, my polish hasn't budged.
Top Coat // Mineral Fusions
While I was grabbing a base coat, I picked up a top coat as well because the only top coats I have are from conventional brands. If I'm going to switch over to natural nail polishes I may as well switch everything over!
Sandstone Nail Polish // Mineral Fusions
I've been pretty bored with my current selection of nail polishes, and I jumped at the opportunity to get a natural nail polish.
This was my favourite colour option, and I think it's great for Summer. It's not too pink, but it's not too nude. It's a subtle, pretty shade that's perfect for my toes.
Polishing Body Scrub // Yes to Coconuts
DIY scrubs are really cheap and easy to make, but sometimes you want the convenience of the store bought stuff.
This is really gentle, so it's perfect for sensitive skin, and it smells sweet and fresh and reminds me of long summer days at the beach.
Radical Resurfacing Treatment // Acure Organics
I've had an eye of this for a while, but it seems too good to be true. I finally decided to try it, because the other Acure products I've tried are always dreamy.
This is a resurfacing cream that I use after my facial oil and before moisturizer. It's supposed to help improve your skin's tone and texture, along with any problematic areas.
Facial Cleansing Creme // Acure Organics
I love this cleanser and wanted to restock. It smells amazing and it can properly cleanse my skin without stripping the natural oils. It actually does the opposite and hydrates my skin, so it's perfect for colder days.
Psychic Detox Mineral Bath Salts // Valentina's Home Brewed Pure Body Care
I love bath salts because they make the bath that much better. A salt that may help with negative energies is a must have.
Even if you don't believe in energies, if it makes me feel a little more calm and positive, I'm going to try it.
L.A. Hold Hair Spritz // Giovanni
Until now, I've had a pixie cut for the last few years. My hair is finally getting longer so I can actually do things with it!
I wanted a few styling products, so I picked up this hair spray and the texture spray below. I haven't tried this yet but I'm really hoping it helps my hair stay styled and pretty without making it sticky or hard. Have you tried this, or any of Giovanni's hair products?
Texture Spray Volumizing Sea Salt // Everyday Coconut
I was eyeing this during my last visit, because I haven't seen this in Canada.
It's a salt texture spray that I felt I could just DIY at home. But I never did. And I'm worried that if I do, it'll dry my hair out, especially in the winter. This one has coconut to help with hydration, and it's got the convince of a pretty bottle and no recipe. Plus it's a huge bottle that'll take me forever to go through.
Soothing Serum // Juice Beauty
My skin is easily irritated and no matter how much concealer I use, you can see the irritation.
I've been focusing on hydrating and soothing ingredients, and serums are the perfect way to take care of the irritation. I've heard so many good things about Juice Beauty, but they aren't in Canada so I've had to wait to try some things.
City Girl Serum // Kensington Apothecary
The packaging on this serum caught my eye, with the simple design and fair prices. They had a lot of different things I wanted to try, but this is named City Girl, it has Kombucha, and it's supposed to calm irritation so this should be perfect for my skin.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your favourite beauty products from other countries?
Until next time,
