It's time to share my September beauty favourites! I love this little monthly recap because it's a great time to share my current favourites and loves with you. This may be hard to believe based on the number of products I'm sharing, but when I first sat down to write this I was actually stumped. Nothing stood out. And then I went and looked in my beauty drawers and cabinets and grabbed everything I loved this month. I guess I loved a lot more than I realized.
Activate Face Mask // Herbivore Botanicals
For some reason, this isn't on their website anymore. Which makes me wonder if they discontinued it. Which makes me want to cry. It's a simple mask that uses activated bamboo charcoal and micronized tourmaline gemstone to draw the impurities out of your face, keeping your pores clean and clear. This mask has really helped me tackle my problematic skin this month because it's allowed me to get rid of the crap in my pores so I can actually treat and heal my skin. Sounds kinda gross now that I reread that sentence. But it's the truth and it's a good truth so I'll leave it there.
Kombucha Enzyme Exfoliating Peel // Andalou Naturals
I used to love scrubs. But then I realized how irritating they can be to sensitive skin, so I stopped using them. This however, is an awesome exfoliator for sensitive skin. It's an extremely gentle peel that you apply, leave for ten minutes, and rinse off with water. It gets rid of the top layer of skin cells, leaving you with super soft and glowing skin.
Argan Oil Hydration SPF 30 // 100% Pure
This is my favourite SPF product, and I'm so happy to have it back in my life! I went without it for a few months to try some other options, but they didn't work out for me, so I brought this back. The argan oil provides lots of hydration while the SPF gives me all the sun protection I need. Bonus - it's not irritating and it provides a great, hydrated base for makeup.
Organic Mint Lip Balm // 100% Pure
I keep this lip balm on my nightstand and I've used it every night for the last year. I am determined to one day finish it because it'll be the first lip balm I've ever finished before losing. This is one of my favourite lip products - it's organic and packed with hydrating ingredients like beeswax and coconut oil that are lip saviors during the winter. It also has a really nice minty scent that makes me feel clean and fresh and like I have my life together. I've been loving it this month as the weather takes a cold turn, and I'll continue loving it all through Winter.
Fruit Pigmented Lip gloss in Pink Caramel // 100% Pure
Apparently, I was really into lip products this month. For the most part, I wanted a neutral lip for classes and work so this was my go to. It's got that "my lips but better" feel that makes my makeup look on point without being too fussy. Plus, it's got a little bit of hydration so it's a good option as the weather gets colder.
Lipstick in Alluring // Mineral Fusions
I've been on the lookout for a natural, vampy lipstick for the last month. And I haven't found anything. So to curb my vampy lipstick craving, I've been reaching for this option because it's the darkest lipstick I have. It's a beautiful berry shade that's not super pink or purple, but a nice mix. It works so well with my fair skin and I've had lots of compliments if that tells you anything.
Blush in Mellow Mauve // e.l.f. Cosmetics
This has always been one of my favourite blushes, but it's been my go to for this month for sure. I've even hit pan! Which does make me a bit sad because we don't have Targets anymore, so I'll have to wait and stock up on elf blushes in December when I go back to the States. But this is a beautiful shade that works well with my fair skin because it's not a super dark, pigmented shade, but it gives me this natural, subtle colour that's lovely for Fall. I want something a bit darker too, so I may be picking up a few of these blushes!
Radiant Shimmer Coconut Multiples // Pacifica Beauty
I've been absolutely loving these this month. Especially the lightest shade, because it works so well as a subtle highlight. I've been using it down my nose and on the tops of my cheeks. You can use the middle colour as a blush, and the darkest shade is awesome if you're new to bronzer and contouring. I'm planning on doing a FOTD featuring this palette in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for that!
Contour Brush // Real Techniques
To apply the coconut highlighters above, I've been loving this contour brush. Unfortunately this comes in the core collection so you can't really buy it on it's own, but I love my Real Techniques brushes - they're cruelty free, super affordable, and they have every brush you could ever want.
Nail Polish in Black // No Miss
It's September which means I can wear darker nail polishes! I mean obviously I can do whatever I want when it comes to nail polishes but in the Summer I love light pinks and neutrals, and in the colder months I adore my darker shades. I went with a full on black this time around, and I'm thinking of doing a dark purple next pedicure. I'm also looking for more dark polishes so if you have any favourites, do tell!
There are all of my monthly beauty favourites. What were your September beauty favourites?
