Although I love the long days of Summer, I'm very excited for Fall. I love the beautiful colours of the changing leaves, the crisp air, and the cozy warmth of sweaters and hot tea.
I'm also excited for new skincare routines.
My skin is sensitive, and flares up easily. My skin can easily become red and irritated, and I burn so easily. Although it can become pretty dry, my skin much prefers the cooler temperatures of Fall and Winter. Oh, and I also get hormonal, cystic acne around my chin area.
So as the temperatures start to drop, I make sure to use light, creamy cleansers, effective serums, and nourishing oils and creams.
If you follow me on Instagram you would've seen this post about a month ago. After moving, finishing the Summer semester, and trying new skincare and makeup products, my skin was a mess. It was so imbalanced and irritated.
Since then, I stopped all skincare and slowly built my routine back, one product at a time. My skin is so much more balanced and less irritated, and these are the products that helped me get there.
Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk // Andalou Naturals
This dreamy cleansing milk is made with apricot and borage oils to remove impurities and replenish your skin while also working to reduce inflammation.
I love the packaging because one pump is the perfect amount. I love the light, fruity scent, and the light and creamy texture. It's my go to, favourite cleanser.
CGF Repair Serum // Acure Organics
This serum is just what my skin needs as it sorts itself out.
Using chlorella growth factor and apple stem cell, this serum has helped reduce redness, while also giving my skin nutrients to help with issues like aging, plumpness, and cell turnover.
Science aside, it's great if your skin needs some extra TLC, especially as the seasons change.
Argan Oil* // Buhbli Organics
Buhbli Organics as the brand that's working towards organic personal care products at an affordable price. I've been using their argan oil for months and I really love it.
Argan oil is so beneficial for your skin. It's a very nourishing oil that can seriously hydrate your skin while also reducing redness.
DIY Booster SPF 30 Facial Serum // Andalou Naturals
While this is kind of supposed to be a serum, I use it as an SPF cream. Similar to the Andalou cleansing milk, it's very light and creamy. It's hydrating, nourishing, and it protects my skin from the sun.
It doesn't leave a white cast, which is amazing, and it's easy to apply, so you're not spending hours trying to get it to soak in.
I've really tried to pair down my skincare routine to the essentials. If you notice, there's no toner or eye cream.
As far as toners go, I love this Andalou Naturals one. I'm currently trying to see if my skin really needs one. I know there's a lot of back and forth about toners, and I've always used one, so I want to see what my skin is like without. What do you think? Do you love or hate toners?
There's also no eye cream. I've decided I use a facial oil and an SPF cream, which work well to hydrate the eye area, so an extra cream isn't really necessary.
