I write a lot about skincare and makeup, but I haven't written a lot about hair care. So today I want to dedicate a post to my hair care and styling routine.
It's a very simple routine, as I have straight hair that's fairly manageable. It's a little on the oily side, but after switching to natural products it's balanced out a lot.
My Hair Care Routine
When it comes to shampoo, I'm not picky. I do like to change it up, so I usually don't repurchase shampoo as there are always new options.
I'm currently using the Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo. It's a little heavy for the warmer months, but it's so hydrating in the Winter. It's fantastic if you have normal to dry hair.
Another one I really love is the Andalou Naturals Full Volume Lavender & Biotin Shampoo. It gives my hair just the perfect amount of volume, while also working to help nourish and strengthen my hair.
I love conditioners. They make your hair so soft and smooth, and so much more manageable. My favourites are from Acure Organics.
I'm currently using the Clarifying Conditioner, which I love. It's a light but nourishing conditioner that smells amazing.
But I think I like their Volume Conditioner more. It not only smells amazing, but it's more nourishing and it helps with my hair's volume.
My Styling Routine
Dry Shampoo //
I love the Acure Organics Dry Shampoo. It's the first and only dry shampoo that's actually worked for me.
It's easy to use, just tap the powder into your hands and comb through your hair.
Not only does it absorb extra oil, but it gives my hair so much texture, lift, and volume. It's a multi tasking, all in one styling product that I cannot go without.
Chi Original 1" Flat Iron //
To style my hair, I use a Chi 1" flat iron, bought at Styles Salon in St. Thomas. I've used Chi for eight years and I don't have any intentions on changing. It's a wonderful flat iron that's very versatile. I have straight hair, so I use it to smooth and straighten, but you can also use it to add curls and texture.
My straightening routine starts with putting my hair up in sections. I'll put everything into a bun except the bottom layer. Then I'll move on to the middle layer, and then the top. That way all of my hair is straightened and smoothed, not just the top few layers.
Sea Salt Spray //
I've recently started using the Everyday Coconut Texture Spray. This is a sea salt spray that's infused with coconut water to hydrate your hair. It's an easy way to add a little more texture to your hair, without any chemicals.
How do you take care of your hair?
Until next time,
