Taking exams can be incredibly stressful. I've actually been physically ill because of the stress. So as this semester comes to an end, I'm prioritizing me. I'm taking small steps to practice self care throughout the exam period. Today I want to share them with you.
It's so important to properly fuel your body. I like to make sure I've got lots of healthy options at home. When you eat better, you'll feel better. That will translate into your ability to focus and study, retain knowledge, and do well on your exams! Which will always make you feel better.
Make a grocery list with lots of fruits and veggies. Drink more green smoothies, make sure you're getting lots of protein. It'll help you feel better.
I always feel tired and sluggish during exams. I'm not one to run off to the gym. But sometimes that's what we need to do. Get your body moving can be an awesome way to cope with stress and to take care of you.
Take a walk, ride your bike, do some yoga, or head to the gym. Whatever gets you moving.
A lot of people think that staying up late studying will help them ace their exams, but it won't. It really won't. You'll be too exhausted to really remember everything, and then you'll be tired for your exam.
Get in the habit of a sleep routine. Go to bed and wake up at similar times so your body can adjust. When you've gotten enough sleep your body can operate at it's full potential.
Taking time to take care of yourself is always worth it. Do your nails, use a face mask, have a long bath. Little acts of self care can make all of the difference in how you feel emotionally, mentally, and physically.
What are your self care tips for stressful situations?
Until next time,
