I live in an apartment with one bathroom, and I share that tiny bathroom with two boys. Before I started blogging, it was hard to contain my products, and now it's literally impossible.
I've had to move the bulk of my stash to my closet, which works for the space. In order to prevent me from running back and forth from the bedroom to the bathroom, I store my every day things under the sink. I was so frustrated as to how to organize things, especially among the boy's stuff, but as usual, Ikea came to the rescue.
To make things work I bought myself the LENNART drawer unit that fits perfectly under the bathroom sink.
It looks really tiny, and it is, but it still holds the bulk of my every day products. I keep my skin care in the top drawer, along with two plastic containers from Dollarama.
In one container I store my beauty tools, like tweezers, nail files, and clippers. In another container, which is currently empty, are the products I'm trying out at the moment. I keep this one front and center so I remember to use the products.
In the second drawer, I store my daily essentials - deodorant, contacts, a pouch for hair ties and bobby pins, my comb and dry shampoo, and my toothbrush and toothpaste. The only problem with this, is I can't keep my whole supply of contacts in here, so I have to replenish the supply often.
In the third drawer, I keep a lot of different things. I store my "self care" stuff - so the face masks and peels I've opened, and the bath salts I'm currently using. I also keep my dry brush in here, for before showers and baths.
In two mason jars, I store my every day make up things - brushes, tinted moisturizer, concealer, mascara, ect. In the little pouch, I keep some of the blushes and luminizers I use often.
It's almost an organized chaos, but it really works for me. The drawer system lets me organize everything categorically, and the plastic containers let me organize small bits and pieces.
The drawer fits easily under the sink, leaving room for two plastic containers that hold the boy's things. When everything is tucked away in it's place, it's very clean and streamlined, which was my main goal in this process.
It's not ideal, but for less than twenty dollars, this little beauty organization setup is more than worth it.
How do you organize your beauty products?
