I've recently been super into essential oils. I've used them since I was a teenager, but it was more for the rare DIY than anything else. But lately, I've been diffusing oils 24/7, used them for all kinds of DIYs, cleaned my house with them, and used them in every bath I take. It's been amazing.
I made my first doTerra haul a few months ago just to stock up on the essentials, like Lavender, Lemon, and Tea Tree. But last month I made a rather large haul featuring all kinds of essential oil blends and fun scents. Today I'm going to share which ones I bought and my first impressions.
I think I actually might like this better than Lemon. It's a bit sweeter, but it's still refreshing and invigorating. I may try to make a few all purpose cleansers with this and see how it compares to lemon.
I have this diffusing right now because I'm craving the bright, uplifting scent. I'm really impressed with this oil, it literally smells like I just peeled a fresh orange. I'm definitely going to be making lots of Summer beauty products with this, and I plan on diffusing it night and day.
This is a really nice, herbal blend that is grounding and clearing. I don't feel incredibly energized when it's diffusing but I feel like I've got a clear head and a calm mind so that I can get work done.
To be honest, I'm glad this was a free gift with purchase because it's not really doing much for me. I really just smell lavender, which I adore, but I don't get much of the other oils like vanilla and cinnamon. I'll probably just stick to the classic Lavender in the future.
While I advocate for using essential oils for self care, and as part of a broad holistic approach to mental health, I never want it to seem like I don't also advocate for therapy (I do, therapy is amazing) and for whatever supports work for you.
That being said, this oil is amazing. The star anise pairs so well with the wild orange, and the vanilla is just the icing on top. It definitely won't cure depression but if it makes you a little happier throughout your day, I'm all for it.
I like this scent but I'm not as impressed as I thought I'd be. I think the clementine is overpowered by the vanilla and peppermint instead of creating a harmonious balance. I will be using it for longer work days and I'll let you know how it goes.
This is a lot better than I thought it would be so I'm really glad I took a chance on it. It's got a bold, spicy scent but it's also paired with sweet vanilla, so it's a unique but really lovely combination. I think it'd be great for diffusing at your desk and even in a linen or room spray.
This oil is great for sore muscles and achy bodies. I've been adding a few drops to my baths, but it would also be great for making a soothing and healing body butter or massage oil.
I also wonder if you could use it to make a DIY vapor rub to help with congestion, as it's very invigorating.
New favourite scent, hands down. This smells like a blooming garden on steroids. It's so beautiful that I wish I'd ordered more because I know I'm going to go through it quickly.
It's also supposed to help calm anxiety, which we all know I have lots of, but I find this to be a really good one for anxiety. It helps me breathe a lot deeper, and the scent just makes my heart happy.
