In my last post I shared my thoughts on the new Herbivore Botanicals face masks. HB is my go to for luxury masks, and for the most part, these new additions were no different.
But sometimes you want to get a little crafty. And that's where these DIY face masks come in.
Just in time for the weekend, I'm sharing two of my DIY face mask favourites. These masks are really easy to make, with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. They're also fantastic for gently exfoliating and detoxing your skin, giving you a natural glow.
I do want to share a few things before we begin.
When it comes to DIY beauty, the options are endless. I've shared two of my favourites, but these aren't your only options! You can find tons of ideas with a quick google search or by searching my DIY Beauty Pintrest Board.
I've used agave in both of these masks to keep them vegan friendly. But honey is great for your skin because of it's anti bacterial and healing properties, so if you're partial to honey, that'll work too.
Like with your normal beauty products, using high quality, organic ingredients is best when possible.
Properly cleanse your skin before applying these masks. You'll want your skin to be nice and clean so the mask can properly exfoliate and detox your skin.
Now let's get started!
Green Tea + Agave Mask //
Green tea is fantastic for your skin. It's going to help reduce sun damage, inflammation, and it's even shown promising signs of slowing down the aging process. You'll be left with soft, bright, and glowy skin.
- 1 Green Tea Bag
- 2 TB Agave
Cut open the tea bag and mix the tea leaves with the agave. Apply an even layer all over your skin. Leave for 10-20 minutes. Wash off with a warm cloth.
Coffee + Cocoa + Agave Mask //
Just like green tea, coffee is great for your skin. When applied topically, it's great for brightening, reducing sun damage, reducing puffiness, and exfoliating. You'll be left with soft, bright, and glowy skin.
- 2 TB Finely Ground Coffee
- 2 TB Cocoa Powder
- 3 TB Agave
Mix everything together and apply an even layer all over your face. Leave for 10-20 minutes, and wash off with a warm cloth.
P.S. After making this, I realized it's really similar to the Lush Cup O' Coffee mask.
What are your favourite DIY beauty products?
