April was a good month. I didn't have classes so I was able to relax a bit while working and blogging a little more. I was also able to take a week off from everything to go home to North Carolina and visit my parents. I hope you had a good month too.
I'm just going to dive right into my favourites. This month I enjoyed taking some time for reading, and I've been getting more and more into aromatherapy and essential oils.
Lemongrass Essential Oil // Doterra
This is a bright, heavenly scent that's uplifting, energizing, and calming all in one.
I've been diffusing it in our living room and it makes the entire space feel so bright and almost clean. It's great for getting rid of food odours, and it reminds me of Spring and Summer.
The Adrenaline Issue // Kinfolk
This was a unique Kinfolk issue, as it was all about adrenaline and taking risks. Usually Kinfolk issues focus on slowing down, and finding a sense of calm. I found it to be refreshing, and as usual the stories were interesting, well written, and the photographs were gorgeous.
There were a few more advertisements in this issue, and while I totally understand the need for them, it took a bit away from the magazine.
Gone Girl // Gillian Flynn
This book kept me on my toes throughout the entire story. It was an intense, almost insane plot with so many twists and turns. The characters, the events, it was all written so wonderfully. If you're into really interesting, exciting books I really recommend this one.
DIY All Purpose Cleaner //
After reading a blog post by Amanda Watters I've decided to dive into DIY cleaners. Now I have an easy way to save money and create natural, sustainable solutions in my home.
I love the all purpose cleaner recipe and use it for everything from the kitchen to the bathroom. I've also tried her linen spray and tub scrub, both of which work really well.
What were your April lifestyle favourites?
Until next time,
