I talk about simplifying a lot. It's actually my intention for 2016. My one goal is to simplify, and that extends to my beauty regime. So today I want to share five tips to simplifying your beauty cabinets.
1. Look for Multi-Tasking Products
This is my favourite way to simplify. Look for products that have lots of uses. For example, I use a dry shampoo that also adds lots of volume and texture, nixing a need for more styling products. Cleansing oils offer a quick solution to a lengthy nighttime skincare routine. Hydrating scrubs* are great for exfoliating and hydrating all in one go.
Do you get the idea? Go for multi tasking products to save time, space, and even money in your beauty routine.
2. The One in, One Out Rule
This is the most helpful for me. Instead of "stocking up" and buying tons of products, only buy what you need.
For example, if I'm low on cleanser, I'll buy just one replacement. That way as I'm using one, I have just one replacement, no more. It keeps my skincare options fresh, organized, and it saves me so much money.
3. DIY What You Can
This tip is fun; just DIY what you can. Instead of going for face masks or scrubs that take up money, space, and come in wasteful packaging, make your own with ingredients you already have in your kitchen.

4. Stick with Simple Ingredients
You probably hear this a lot in green beauty blogs - if you don't know what it is or how to pronounce it, don't use it. And while it's become a bit cliche, it's really true.
If you're worried about picking the best skincare products, just go with what's simple. Go with ingredients you recognize and ones that are going to support your skin. Don't even bother with the other stuff.
5. Consistency is Best
I've actually struggled with this in the past month. Keep a consistent beauty routine. You don't have to always use the same products, but don't open two serums at once and alternate. Open one, use it, and then open the second.
Keeping a consistent skin, hair, and body routine will allow the products to actually help your skin and it'll keep your cabinets, and your mind, less cluttered.
How do you simplify your green beauty routine?
