Happy 4th of July! If you're not an American, you're still probably familiar with the holiday. If you're a Canadian, you're definitely familiar because we celebrate Canada Day the same way. With barbecues and fireworks.
In honor of Independence Day I want to share five green beauty brands that are based in the States.
Andalou is one of my favourite green beauty brands because of their commitment to affordable, natural solutions.
Based in California, they use completely GMO free ingredients in their skin, hair, and body lines. Andalou is cruelty free, gluten free, fair trade, and offers vegan and vegetarian products.
Acure was one of the first totally natural brands I tried. I was drawn in by their simple packaging and unique ingredients. But I continue to use their products today because of how effective they are.
Acure is a family owned business that uses sustainable practices to craft products that are not only natural, but actually work. They offer skin, hair, and body products, and have recently launched sunscreens and shaving creams. Learn more about Acure Organics and their products here.
Based in Colorado and launched in 2007, Mineral Fusion is a widely known green beauty brand, available in almost every Whole Foods. All of their products are made in the US, so by supporting Mineral Fusion, you're supporting local jobs.
I've been using Mineral Fusion for a few years now, first with their nail care products and now their makeup.
I adore their polishes, as they're the most affordable green beauty polishes that truly work. The colours are gorgeous and they last for days without chips.
I also love their lipsticks and eye shadows trios. Both are so well made, but with an affordable price tag. Their lipsticks are really pigmented, with long lasting colour and just enough hydration. Their eye shadows trios are my favourite, as they allow you to easily create a unique look. You can see both in action here.

This brand is new to me, but I'm quickly falling in love. I really like their Fantastic Face Wash*. It's a gel cleanser that's actually really gentle. It doesn't strip my skin, but instead it gently exfoliates and removes makeup.
This is another brand that's newer to me. Meow Meow Tweet is a fun green beauty brand dedicated to small batch skincare with natural and organic ingredients.
What are your favourite USA based green beauty brands?
