I'm not sure if it's the weather change, stress from Uni, or something in my diet, but my skin has been acting up a lot lately. My chin's been dealing with a lot of problem spots, and my skin's just been a little dry and dehydrated lately. So what's a girl to do? Use all the face masks! I've been working on eating healthier, drinking more water, getting enough rest, ect. but sometimes all your skin needs is a face mask or three. I've been rotating a few to help deal with my skin's current issues, so I thought I'd share their benefits in case you need some TLC too.
Kombucha Enzyme Exfoliating Peel // Andalou Naturals
Exfoliating can be a touchy topic for some. I loathe the standard scrubs that are made with sugars or salts because they can really harm your skin, especially sensitive skin like mine. But at the same time, exfoliating can be beneficial. Dead skin cells can clog your pores and make your skin look dull. My solution is this gentle exfoliating peel. It's more of a gel mask than a peel, but it's a super gentle, non irritating gel that you apply for ten minutes and remove with warm water. It leaves me with soft skin that isn't irritated. This helps clear my pores and keep my skin bright and glowing. I use this three times a week at the most.
Activate Face Mask // Herbivore Botanicals
When my pores need a good cleanse, this is my go to. I'm so sad because I'm almost out and they don't have it on their website anymore, so I think it's been discontinued. But it's so perfect for clearing your pores. Using micronized Brazilian tourmaline gemstone and activated bamboo charcoal, this draws all of the impurities out of your skin. I usually have more spots in the few days after use, but that's totally okay because that's the mask drawing everything out. Once your skin can get the crap out, it can start to heal.
1000 Roses Rosewater Mask // Andalou Naturals
While the first two masks are exfoliating and great for acne, this one is my go to mask for soothing my skin. So once my skin has been exfoliated, and I've gotten the gunk out, I use this to heal and soothe my skin. This smells divine and it's really thick and creamy, but not greasy, so it's the perfect option.
I generally use these masks in this exact order, leaving a day between each mask. This cycle seems to help me the most when I've got a tough case of acne. I hope it helps you too!
Until next time,
