August 9th is Book Lover's Day so I want to take some time to share some green beauty books you should try! If you have any favourites please leave them in the comments below!
Pretty Honest // Sali Hughes
This may not be a "green beauty" book but it's the best, most comprehensive beauty book I've ever read. Hughes covers it all in this book in a very thorough, informative, but easy to understand manner.
Her advice is practical and easy to follow. Not only did she help me understand my skin and it's needs, but the reality of skincare routines and makeup products.
I use it as a reference book from time to time and I probably need to reread it soon.
Skin Cleanse // Adina Grigore
This is definitely more of a green beauty book. The author is also the founder of the organic, simplified skin care line, S.W. Basics.
She gives a very approachable guide to switching from conventional to natural skincare. Her big idea here is a skin cleanse, where you remove your conventional products and give your skin time to sort itself before you start introducing natural products.
I haven't done her skin cleanse yet, because I'm already using natural products, but I kind of want to give it a go and see what benefits can be had by just letting my skin be!
No More Dirty Looks // Siobhan O'Conner and Alexandra Spunt
This was one of the very first books I read on green beauty, before I even knew what green beauty was.
This book effortlessly convinced me to switch to natural products. The authors write in a very personable, but informative way that completely transformed my thinking.
They even include some green beauty brand and product recommendations, along with some DIY skincare and makeup recipes. It's really a must have, especially if you know someone who needs another reason to switch to green beauty.
What are your favourite green beauty books?
Until next time,
